To configure your Fanvil X-series or V-series IP phone for use with Internetports SIP trunk, you need to follow a series of steps that include finding the phone's IP address, logging into the web interface, and entering necessary SIP account details. This guide will help you through the process to ensure your phone service works optimally with Internetports services.

Find Fanvil Phone's IP Address and Log in to Web Interface

  1. Step 1: Find the phone's IP address

To find the IP address on your Fanvil phone, press and hold the Status button for a minute until the screen displays the IP address. Note this address.

  2. Step 2: Log in to the web interface

Use a computer or tablet to open a browser and enter the phone's IP address into the address bar. Press Enter. You will reach the login page where you should enter the username admin and password 1234.

Navigate to Line SIP Account

  1. Step 3: Go to SIP account settings

After logging in, navigate to the Line menu and select the line you want to configure (usually Line1).

Fill in SIP Server, Port, Username, and Password

  1. Step 4: Enter SIP server details

In the SIP Server field, enter sip.internetport.se. For Port, use 5060 for UDP or 5061 for TLS depending on which protocol you are using. In the User Name and Password fields, enter your SIP details found in your Internetport customer portal under Services -> My Services -> [SIP-trunk] -> Configuration Details.

Set Correct Codec Order PCMA, PCMU, G.722

  1. Step 5: Configure codecs

Navigate to the Codec menu. Ensure that the following codecs are enabled and in this order: G.711 a-law (PCMA), G.711 u-law (PCMU), G.722.

Configure NAT Settings and STUN if Necessary

  1. Step 6: Enable NAT traversal

Go to the Network menu, under NAT Traversal. Select the option Enable STUN and enter stun.internetport.se in the STUN server field.

Save and Verify Registration Status

  1. Step 7: Save settings

Once all settings are done, click Save. The phone will attempt to register with Internetports SIP server. You can verify the registration status under the Status -> Registration Status menu.

Test Outgoing and Incoming Calls

  1. Step 8: Test calls

Once the phone is registered, test calling a number to verify that outgoing calls work. Ask a friend to call you to ensure incoming calls also function correctly.

Common Issues

  • Check that the IP address is correct and the phone is connected to the network.
  • For secure communication, use TLS (port 5061) instead of UDP (port 5060).
  • Ensure codecs are enabled in the correct order.
  • Check that the STUN server is correctly configured if you have NAT traversal issues.
