To take advantage of Internetport's SIP trunk service with your 3CX phone system, you need to follow a simple step-by-step guide. Here you'll get help with retrieving necessary SIP information, configuring the trunk, and testing both incoming and outgoing calls.
Prerequisites
- 3CX is installed on your server.
- SIP trunk is activated with Internetport via the customer portal.
Retrieve SIP Information from portal.internetport.com
Step 1: Log in to the Customer Portal
Go to customer portal and log in with your credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to Services
Click on "Services", select "My Services" and open your active SIP trunk.
Step 3: Retrieve Configuration Information
Go to the "Configuration Information" tab to retrieve SIP username, password, and other necessary information.
Create New SIP Trunk in 3CX Admin Panel
Step 4: Open 3CX Admin Console
Start the 3CX Management Console on your server.
Step 5: Add New SIP Trunk
Go to "VoIP Providers", click on "Add" and select "Generic SIP Server".
Configure Trunk Settings (Server, Auth, Codecs)
Step 6: Fill in Server Information
Enter "sip.internetport.se" as SIP Server and port 5060 for UDP.
Step 7: Authentication Credentials
Fill in the SIP username and password from the customer portal under "Authentication".
Step 8: Select Codecs
Select desired codecs such as G.711 a-law (PCMA) or G.729 under "Codecs".
Add DID Numbers (Incoming Numbers)
Step 9: Add DID
Go to "DID Numbers", click on "Add" and enter your incoming number.
Configure Outbound Call Rule (Outbound Rule)
Step 10: Create Outbound Rule
Go to "Outbound Rules", click on "Add" and configure the rule for outbound calls.
Test Incoming and Outgoing Calls
Step 11: Test Outgoing Calls
Dial a test number to verify that the outgoing connection works.
Step 12: Test Incoming Calls
Provide someone with your DID number and ask them to call to test incoming calls.
Troubleshooting
- If the trunk does not register, check the authentication credentials and server settings.
- For audio/RTP issues, verify that the selected codecs are supported by both 3CX and Internetport.
- NAT problems can be resolved by configuring the STUN server "stun.internetport.se" in your 3CX settings.
