To connect your Grandstream UCM model (UCM6202, UCM6208 or UCM6510) to Internetport's SIP trunk, you need the correct firmware and SIP trunk details. Follow these steps for a smooth configuration from VoIP trunk to test calls.

Prerequisites

  • A Grandstream UCM model (UCM6202, UCM6208 or UCM6510).
  • Correctly installed and updated firmware on your UCM.
  • SIP trunk details from Internetport. Find these in the customer portal under Services -> My services -> [SIP-trunk] -> Configuration details.

Login to UCM Web Interface

  1. Step 1: Open a web browser

    Use a modern web browser to open the UCM's web interface.

  2. Step 2: Connect to UCM

    Go to your Grandstream UCM's IP address in the browser. The default IP is usually 192.168.2.100.

  3. Step 3: Log in

    Use administrator credentials to log in.

Create VoIP Trunk (Account)

  1. Step 4: Navigate to SIP Trunks

    Go to SIP Settings -> SIP Trunks.

  2. Step 5: Add new trunk

    Click on Add New Trunk and fill in the following details:

    • Trunk Name: Name your trunk.
    • SIP Server: Use sip.internetport.se.
    • Outbound Proxy: Leave blank unless specified by Internetport.
    • Auth ID: Your SIP user from Internetport.
    • Password: Your password for the SIP trunk.

  3. Step 6: Advanced settings

    Click on Advanced Settings and configure:

    • Transport: Choose UDP or TLS depending on what is supported.
    • Codec Priority: Use the codecs supported by Internetport, e.g., G.711 a-law (PCMA).

  4. Step 7: Save trunk

    Click on Save to save the settings.

Configure Inbound Routes

  1. Step 8: Navigate to Inbound Routes

    Go to Call Routing -> Inbound Routes.

  2. Step 9: Add new inbound route

    Click on Add New Route and fill in the following details:

    • Name: Name your route.
    • Destination Number: Use the DID number you have from Internetport.
    • Trunk: Select the trunk you created earlier.

  3. Step 10: Save inbound route

    Click on Save to save the settings.

Configure Outbound Routes

  1. Step 11: Navigate to Outbound Routes

    Go to Call Routing -> Outbound Routes.

  2. Step 12: Add new outbound route

    Click on Add New Route and fill in the following details:

    • Name: Name your route.
    • Dial Patterns: Use wildcard to match all outgoing calls, e.g., X..
    • Trunk: Select the trunk you created earlier.

  3. Step 13: Save outbound route

    Click on Save to save the settings.

Verify Trunk Status in UCM Dashboard

  1. Step 14: Navigate to SIP Trunks

    Go to SIP Settings -> SIP Trunks.

  2. Step 15: Check trunk status

    Check that your trunk has the status Registered. If not, check the settings and try again.

Test Calls and Check CDR

  1. Step 16: Test outgoing calls

    Dial an external number to verify that outgoing calls work.

  2. Step 17: Test incoming calls

    Leave a message on your DID number or call it from another number to verify that incoming calls work.

  3. Step 18: Check CDR logs

    Go to Status -> Call Logs and check that calls are logged correctly.

Common Issues

  • Incorrect trunk status. Ensure SIP server, Auth ID, and password are correct.
  • No incoming calls. Check DID number and inbound routes.
  • No outgoing calls. Check outbound routes and trunk settings.
