To enhance internal communication within your company by configuring SIP accounts, ring groups, and call queues in Yeastar P-series, follow these steps. By creating SIP accounts for each user, setting up codecs and NAT settings, and configuring ring groups and call queues with hold music, you can ensure smooth communication.

Create SIP Accounts for Each User

  1. Step 1: Log in to Yeastar P-series

    Go to the web interface of your Yeastar P-series and log in with your administrator credentials.

  2. Step 2: Navigate to SIP Accounts

    Click on the SIP Accounts tab.

  3. Step 3: Create New SIP Account

    Click on the Add button to create a new SIP account.

  4. Step 4: Fill in the Information

    Enter the following details:
    - Account Name
    - Display Name
    - User ID (user's SIP username)
    - Authentication ID (same as user's SIP username)
    - Password
    - Server (sip.internetport.se)
    - Port (5060 for UDP or 5061 for TLS)

  5. Step 5: Save Settings

    Click on the Save button.

Configure Codec and NAT Settings per Account

  1. Step 1: Select SIP Account

    Select the SIP account you want to configure.

  2. Step 2: Configure Codec

    Go to the Codec tab and select desired codecs. Internetport supports G.711 a-law (PCMA), G.711 u-law (PCMU), G.722, G.729.

  3. Step 3: Configure NAT Settings

    Go to the NAT tab and configure settings according to your network needs.

  4. Step 4: Save Changes

    Click on the Save button.

Create Ring Group with Multiple Accounts

  1. Step 1: Navigate to Ring Groups

    Click on the Ring Groups tab.

  2. Step 2: Create New Ring Group

    Click on the Add button to create a new ring group.

  3. Step 3: Fill in the Information

    Enter the following details:
    - Ring Group Name
    - Extension Number (number used to reach the ring group)
    - Members (add SIP accounts)

  4. Step 4: Configure Ring Strategy

    Select a ringing strategy, e.g., Ring All, Sequential Ring, or Random Ring.

  5. Step 5: Save Settings

    Click on the Save button.

Configure Call Queue with Hold Music

  1. Step 1: Navigate to Queues

    Click on the Queues tab.

  2. Step 2: Create New Queue

    Click on the Add button to create a new queue.

  3. Step 3: Fill in the Information

    Enter the following details:
    - Queue Name
    - Extension Number (number used to reach the queue)
    - Members (add SIP accounts)

  4. Step 4: Configure Hold Music

    Go to the Misc. tab and upload a WAV file to be used as hold music.

    Click on the Save button.

Set Business Hours and Break Rules

  1. Step 1: Navigate to Time Conditions

    Click on the Time Conditions tab.

  2. Step 2: Create New Time Condition

    Click on the Add button to create a new time condition.

  3. Step 3: Fill in the Information

    Enter the following details:
    - Time Condition Name
    - Business Hours (enter opening hours)
    - Break Times (enter break rules)

  4. Step 4: Save Settings

    Click on the Save button.

Link Incoming DID to Ring Group

  1. Step 1: Navigate to Inbound Routes

    Click on the Inbound Routes tab.

  2. Step 2: Select DID Number

    Select the incoming DID number you want to link to the ring group.

  3. Step 3: Configure Routing Destination

    Go to the Route tab and select the ring group as the destination for incoming calls.

  4. Step 4: Save Settings

    Click on the Save button.

Troubleshoot Phone Not Registering or Ringing Incorrectly

  • Check that SIP account details are correctly filled in.
  • Verify that codecs are supported by both Yeastar and Internetport (G.711 a-law, G.711 u-law, G.722, G.729).
  • Check NAT settings to ensure correct communication through internet tunnel.
  • Verify that the STUN server (stun.internetport.se) is correctly configured.
