This article explains how to create, delete, and manage databases and database users in Plesk, including setting user privileges and passwords.
Creating a database

Step 1: Log in to Plesk
Access your Plesk control panel. If you need help with the login process, refer to this article.

Step 2: Navigate to Databases
In the left sidebar, click Databases. The Databases page appears.

Step 3: Add a new database
Click Add Database. The Add a Database page appears.

Step 4: Configure database settings
In the Database name text box, type the database name you want to use.
In the Related site list box, select a site to associate with the new database, or accept the default value.

Step 5: Create a database user (optional)
To create a user for the database, under Users, select the Create a database user check box.
Note: If you do not create a user now, you can add one later.
In the Database user name text box, type the username you want to use.
In the New password and Confirm password text boxes, type a password for the database user. Alternatively, click Generate to have Plesk create a random, strong password.

Step 6: Complete the setup
Click OK. Plesk creates the database.
Deleting a database

Step 2: Navigate to Databases
In the left sidebar, click Databases. The Databases page appears.

Step 3: Remove the database
In the database section you want to remove, click Remove Database.

Step 4: Confirm deletion
To confirm database removal, click Yes. Plesk removes the database.
Adding a user to a database

Step 1: Log in to Plesk

Step 2: Navigate to Databases
In the left sidebar, click Databases. The Databases page appears.

Step 3: Access User Management
Click User Management. The Database Users page appears.

Step 4: Add a new user
Click Add Database User. The Adding Database User page appears.

Step 5: Configure user credentials
In the Database user name text box, type the username you want to use.
In the New password and Confirm password text boxes, type a password for the database user. Alternatively, click Generate to have Plesk create a random, strong password.

Step 6: Assign to database
In the Database list box, select a database to assign the new user to, or accept the default.

Step 7: Complete the setup
Click OK. Plesk updates the user privileges for the database.
Managing database user privileges

Step 2: Navigate to Databases
In the left sidebar, click Databases.

Step 3: Access User Management
Click User Management.

Step 4: Select the user
Click the name of the database user you want to manage.

Step 5: Update user settings
To change the user's password, in the New password and Confirm password text boxes, type a new password. Alternatively, click Generate to have Plesk create a random, strong password.
To change the database to which the user is assigned, select a database in the Database list box.
To change the database user's privileges for the selected database, in the Role list box choose an access level.

Step 6: Save changes
Click OK. Plesk updates the user's privileges for the database.
